NALU Portugal Experience: Immersive Surf Retreat
This October, we’re offering a retreat unlike any other – a focused and immersive surf coaching experience designed to help you make real, measurable progress in your surfing skills. Whether you’re paddling out for the first time or refining advanced techniques, this retreat is for surfers of all levels who are serious about improving.
At the heart of this retreat is an emphasis on high-quality coaching and progression. With daily surf sessions guided by top-level coaches, you’ll receive personalized feedback on your technique and form. But that’s not all – we incorporate video analysis and theory classes to give you a deeper understanding of your surfing. Learn to read the ocean, refine your positioning, and build the confidence to tackle challenges in and out of the water. This combination of practice, analysis, and knowledge ensures that your time on the waves is not just fun but transformational.
You will have plenty of water time – 6Â sessions in different spots – plus the chance to do some supervised free-surfing.
This retreat is limited to just 16 participants for FOUR COACHES (!!)Â allowing us to provide a highly individualized experience. With 4 experienced coaches on hand, we work closely with you, addressing your unique strengths and areas for growth. Even during group sessions, our focus is on tailored progression, ensuring that everyone feels supported in their journey.
ACCOMMODATION & SURFING
You will stay at Santa Cruz Surf Lodge, a beautiful, high-end surf house. It is the perfect place for surfers to find a lovely balance between surf lessons, chill out and relax.
The Lodge features a cozy living room and beautiful garden with swimming pool and BBQ station, lush grass for relaxing in the sun after a long day of surf or to practice yoga and meditation. Right in front of the lodge there is space for parking.
Surflodge Santa Cruz is located just 5 minutes away from the beach. It is just a short walk or bike ride from the center of Santa Cruz. This seaside village gives you the opportunity to try local Portuguese restaurants and bars.
Santa Cruz offers beautiful beaches with great uncrowded surfing within short distance. In case of weak conditions at our local beach, it is strategically located between Ericeira and Peniche. This way, we will be able to find a suitable beach for the day thanks our local coaches’ knowledge from Santa Cruz Surf School.
This school will collaborate with NALU during the entire retreat and provide material, transfers and experienced coaches. Coach Daniele Moscardini will be assisting every class, together with 3 additional local coaches. All Coaches from Santa Cruz Surf School are either L2I ISA/10+ years experienced instructors and they teach and coach up to pro/competitive level surfing. Please remember that as NALU we are guests at this location and therefore, Santa Cruz Surf School’s coaches are the one in charge for operations.

At the time of booking, you will pay a NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. This deposit is NON REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. The final balance is due on the 30 of August 2025. After this date, upon reservation the retreat has to be paid in full.
Payment plans available for those in need to split payments a bit more. Plans will be calculated on the Regular Price as base. If you need it, send us an email and we can discuss it together!

- 6 Group Surf Coaching Sessions w/ 3 Santa Cruz Surf School coaches & Daniele Moscardini. All are either ISA L2 coaches or 10+ experienced insrtuctors
- Surf Theories according to spots, conditions and group level
- All transfers to surf spots
- 1-2 supervised free-surfing depending on the conditions & your level
- Surf material
- 2 video Analysis: one by Daniele Moscardini & one by Local Coaches
- RC Insurance during surfing

What is not included:
- Flights
- Transfer from Lisboa Airport to Surf Santa Cruz Lodge: it is possible to book it at an extra fee starting from 25€ pp for a group of 5 or more people arriving together. The price goes up to 70€ for solo or duo travellers. Please let us know if you are interested.
- Any food not mentioned in the ‘what is included’ list
- Car rental – if you want to have full freedom, you need to take care of this yourself. Transfers are included only during surf activities & planned excursions.
- Travel Insurance or Cancellation Insurance
- Optional Yoga/Stretching with local instructor
- Pictures: if you want specific pictures and videos of you surfing, you’ll need to reach out to the photographers
